Building A Solid Number Foundation (12 hours)

This learning option will explore common understandings and misunderstandings in mathematics. Participants will examine their own mathematics understanding in order to think broadly about their students and gather greater experience with mathematics taught in the K-9 settings.

Learning Outcomes

  • To examine one’s understanding of mathematics
  • To understand the Big Ideas within the K-9 math curriculum
  • To identify misconceptions in understanding math
  • To explore instructional strategies for conceptual understanding
  • be able to navigate the common formulas used in every math class

Provider/Format

This course can be delivered by district personnel through face to face instruction. Instructors should have experience in special education as well as in teaching adults and providing professional development.
